Terms Entered in Search Tools
When you enter a name, place, or other term in a search box, the query is transmitted to the third-party company that provides that tool. Harrison County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms control its handling of the submitted query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details needed to answer. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Information Collected Automatically
A page request can create routine technical and usage records. Those records may contain:
- Your Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version in use.
- Your device category and operating system.
- The pages opened and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time associated with each request.

Privacy Beyond Our Pages
Links may lead to WVDCR offender searches, Harrison County court or sheriff resources, federal locators, release-record sources, and outside search tools. After you follow a link, the destination’s own privacy policy governs its collection and use of information.
Advertising partners may use their systems to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place under the partner’s controls, not within records maintained by this site.

These requests concern information controlled by Harrison County Released Inmates. Official records held by WVDCR, Harrison County, a court, or another agency must be addressed to that record custodian under the applicable process, including West Virginia’s public-record procedure in W. Va. Code §29B-1-3.
